In 1891, Gerard and Anton Philips founded their first light bulb factory in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. This little factory became the multinational Philips, nowadays famous as a key player in the world of health technology.
While in the city of Eindhoven, founders such as Anton and Frits were already honored with statues, Gerard was not recognized yet.

Pascale de Wijs (LikeWise) designed the concept in which the new statue for Gerard was welcomed in a stylish way. Commissioned by LikeWise we took care of the event production, both as facilitator and concept creator.

The statue, designed by artist Andreas Hetfeld, was presented to the city of Eindhoven and its inhabitants in May 2023.
Major Dijsselbloem received the statue on behalf of the city of Eindhoven, accompanied by an audience of 150 guests, family members and press representatives. With this statue Gerard finally gets the attention and recognition as he deserves.
